Flash Jewellery is consciously hand made by skilled artisans using only high quality, ethically sourced materials and recycled metals where possible.
Our Metals | What is Vermeil?
Vermeil is a benchmark of quality. it refers to high-quality sterling silver that has a thick overlay/layer of gold.
'vermeil is different from regular ‘gold plated jewellery’ as to be considered as ‘true vermeil’ it has to comply with US standards: the base metal must be pure silver or sterling silver and gold plate needs to be at least 2.5 microns thick (thick in industry standards), and at least 10k or higher.’
We produce in 925 sterling silver with an overlayer of 14k or 18k gold. all our jewellery is plated in a minimum of 2.5 microns, depending on the piece up to 4 microns are used.
Our jewellery does not contain nickel.
We are fortunate to work with manufacturers who have the machinery and technology to test precious metal and gold plate thickness and we conduct random testing on batches of our jewellery to ensure quality.
